The world seems to be heavier these days - people seem tired, shorter fuses, less optimistic. This is, of course, a generalization. But I think it is more true than false.
My mood has improved since I stopped reading the news. I skim headlines, listen to NPR, try to keep alert to important changes but I don't focus on it. I try to connect with positive people, loving organizations, happier things. Often, we bring what we focus on into our lives. That's when I thought - lets share good stuff, happy stuff, peaceful stuff. I am challenging myself to go on a Happiness Hunt. In doing this, of course, another podcast is born called: It's Gonna Be a Good Day. I have been saying this mantra to myself every morning for decades. Does it help? I think so. It doesn't hurt. A musician/artist friend, Jimmy Mac, recorded a perfect song for this podcast called Life is Good. It is available on Spotify and I listen to it each day - it always ramps up my mood. NOTE - for legal reasons - and battles I choose not to fight at this time - I am sharing this fun and upbeat song with you here and not the podcast. Listen anytime on Spotify! |
